The Japanese invasion of the motorcycle industry spelt the end of traditional manufacturers. By the 1980s the surviving British builders had amalgamated into one company (NVT), and their European counterparts were similarly disappearing. In a bid to survive Laverda attempted to update their product line by introducing the RGS sports tourer in 1983. The RGS received considerable investment and introduced many new features such unbreakable Bayflex plastic mouldings; fuel filler in the fairing; integrated but removable luggage (Executive version), and adjustable foot-peg positions.

Sadly, 24 months after the release of the RGS Laverda would be gone, but the legend is well and truly not forgotten as their values, and demand for the entire range, continue to rise.

This example is a beautiful 1983 version in spectacularly original condition with original Ital papers and only 33,000k’s use. Presently located with our Ital agent, the advertised price excludes shipping.
