Description
Valse-Impromptu / Petite valse favorite presents three versions of one of Lisztâs charming and technically demanding waltzes. This scholarly edition is particularly useful for advanced pianists and teachers because it allows comparison of the different versions of the work.

Petite valse favorite, an earlier version
Valse-Impromptu, S.213 â the later version
The earliest surviving version dates from 1842, when Liszt wrote it into the diary of Tsaritsa Alexandra Feodorovna during his visit to St Petersburg. A more technically demanding version followed in 1843, and the final Valse-Impromptu version appeared in 1853.
