tesla charging rate Page 34

Tesla charging rate depends on the plug you use and how topped‑up the battery already is.

At home, expect about ~7 kW on single‑phase (around 32 A) or ~11 kW on three‑phase for most Model 3/Y; many Model S/X can take up to ~16.5 kW AC.

On the road, Tesla Superchargers deliver up to 250 kW DC (V3), while older sites manage about 120–150 kW (V2), with speeds tapering as state of charge rises.

In real terms, that’s roughly ~40–70 km of range per hour on AC and short peaks of ~800–1,200+ km/h on DC before the inevitable slowdown.

Temperature, shared stalls, and your battery’s chemistry all influence the numbers, so the first 10–50% is the sprint and the last 20% is the cool‑down lap. Consult official documentation for exact figures.
