Rachmaninoff – Études-Tableaux (Piano)

Rachmaninoff’s Études-Tableaux continue the tradition established by Chopin and Liszt, combining demanding piano technique with expressive and highly characterful music.

This Henle Urtext Edition presents Rachmaninoff’s two complete published cycles of Études-Tableaux. For Op. 33, Henle follows the six-piece structure that Rachmaninoff himself prepared for publication, rather than later editions that restored pieces he had withdrawn.

Two surviving Études-Tableaux that were not originally published are included in an appendix, making this a particularly comprehensive edition for study and performance. The edition is edited by Dominik Rahmer, with fingering by internationally acclaimed pianist Marc-André Hamelin.
